THEATRE IS A MIRROR.
Born on the unceded lands of the Wathaurong People of the Kulin Nation, OVERFLOW THEATRE COMPANY is an independent performing arts collective led by Artistic Director Molly England producing and performing new and classic works that speak to the dynamic world we live in.
Overflow is dedicated to creating opportunity and accessibility for early-career artists at all levels to engage with the practice of creating theatre in a collaborative community of creatives.
We believe as artists we are responsible for instilling sustainable physical, environmental, mental, and cultural practices.
We meet where we are, with the stories on our hearts and present them to other people to share in the human experience and rejoice at our shared connections across time and place.
OVERFLOW THEATRE COMPANY lives and breathes on the lands of the Wathaurong people of the Kulin Nation, who have told stories on this county since the beginning.
It is a privilege to live on this Country. We pledge to take on the responsibility of caring for Country through guided and sustainable cultural, environmental and emotional practice, including the seas, skies and land. We pledge to take care of those who live on this land too.
Treaty was never signed, and this Country was never ceded. Our allegiance lay with the traditional owners of this Country. We pledge to continually learn and seek knowledge surrounding the history of Wathaurong Country. We pledge to keep our hearts and minds open to the guidance of Australia’s First Peoples. We pledge to take accountability for our mistakes and dedicate ourselves to being educated and educating.
We love this land. We stand with Australia’s First People.
